Wayne’s Solar recently completed a solar water 
heating system for the entire condominium complex of Pirate’s Cove in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. The 10-panel solar hot water array is designed to provide up to 80% of all the hot water used in Pirate’s Cove!
The large scale operation involved the use of a crane to hoist stacks of four foot by ten-foot solar hot water collectors onto the roof. This commercial solar hot water system was designed with a north and south array to cover the hot water demands of the entire condominium.
This commercial solar hot water system is expected to perform with little maintenance for at least 30 years. It involves 120-gallon solar tanks and custom plumbing work to integrate with the condo’s existing plumbing, as well as specially designed racks for the solar panels on the roof.
